Review Sampler: Blue Dildo Edition, ft. Bad Dragon Nova, BS Atelier Alex Noise, and Tantus Flurry O2

So many blue dildos, so little time to write reviews for them. I made it easier on myself and decided to combine them into one handy review sampler. Behold, the badass blue dildos:

Bad Dragon Nova the Breeder

Nova the Breeder from Bad Dragon was my second fantasy toy and helped establish my love for them. I enjoy the creativity of the designs and the endless possibilities of sensations that all the shapes and textures can provide.

Since I typically prefer less girthy toys,bad-dragon-nova- especially when it comes to toys with texture (which the Nova has a lot of), I chose the small size.  The diameter of the insertable part of the toy ranges from 1.3 inches to 2.1 inches and is just under 6 inches in length. The base is more than an inch thick.

I went with medium firmness because I tend to find squishier toys to be more comfortable. And again, the texture would have made it feel way too intense if it was hard and rigid. If you aren’t sure what firmness you’d prefer, Bad Dragon does sell samples.

Throughout my reviews I’ve mentioned how I’m not much of a thruster when it comes to dildos, so you might be surprised to hear that I love thrusting with the Nova. The squishy ridges feel amazing going in and out and create a really unique sensation.

Bad Dragon also lets you add a suction cup feature and a “cumtube,” and I decided to just get the suction cup. I’m happy I added the suction cup. It sticks extraordinarily well even to vertical surfaces.

My only complaint about the Bad Dragon Nova, aside from the alarmingly high rate at which it collects lint and pet hair, is that the base is pretty chunky and I find it a little awkward to hold.

Bad Dragon has introduced several more designs since I got my Nova, but it would still be one of my first choices if I were to pick one out now.

You can order a custom Nova from Bad Dragon starting at $70, or find one on their list of pre-made toys.

BS Atelier Alex Noise

I really love BS Atelier. Their simple but satisfying small G-Spot dildo is one of my all time favorites, they have unique and exciting designs, and the folks who run it are so helpful and friendly.

The Alex Noise bs-alex-noiseis petite like my G-Spot dildo. It’s 1.4 inches in diameter and a little over 6 inches long. The shape isn’t necessarily the most interesting but that doesn’t matter to me because it’s effective. I appreciate the subtlety of its shape. The slight curve and single, smooth ridge provide the right amount of sensation in the right places. The ridge delightfully rubs against my g-spot if I gently thrust it.

It’s a great size for me because it’s small enough that I don’t need to warm up to it, but it’s not too small that I end up feeling like I need something larger. If I am trying to warm up to something bigger though, like the Fun Factory Big Boss, this is perfect for that.

The silicone is fairly firm but it’s not stiff. There’s only a little bit of give if you squeeze it but the shaft is very flexible. I don’t find the Alex to be a lube-hungry (thirsty?) toy; a little lube will go a long way thanks to it’s slick, smooth silicone.

Each Alex Noise is uniquely patterned and inspired by the art of Janet Sobel who, even before Jackson Pollock, used the abstract painting technique called “drip painting.” In addition to blue there’s another style that’s grey with red, black, and white splatters and it looks really fucking cool. The Alex is also available with a rainbow design, with hearts, or if you hate fun, solid colors.

The BS Atelier Alex Noise, which may look like just another underwhelming semi-realistic dildo, is actually a very well designed and pleasurable toy. Unless you absolutely need a girthy toy to get off, I’d definitely recommend you try it! And while you’re at it, check out BS Atelier’s other toys too, they’re pretty rad.

You can find the Alex Noise (and other versions of Alex) at SheVibe, SheBop, Early to Bed, or buy one directly from BS Atelier.

Tantus Flurry O2

The Flurry O2 is one of Tantus‘ dual density toys. It has a hard inner core and a plush, squishy outer layer. Aesthetically it is similar to the Cush O2 but the Flurry is smaller and has different ridges.

I adore Tantus tantus-flurry-o2and I’m a big fan of dual density dildos, but honestly the Flurry doesn’t do much for me. And until I sat down to write this review, I couldn’t figure out why I’m not so into it. The ridges aren’t much less pronounced than the wonderful BS Atelier Alex Noise. The silicone is nice and squishy which is exactly how I like my dildos to feel. At 1.5 inches in diameter, it’s the same size as many of my other favorite toys. Theoretically I should love it. But apparently I was underestimating the importance of curve.

The Flurry is completely straight. Like if it was a person it would be a zero on the Kinsey scale. The only texture it features is two ridges below the head and those ridges are intended for g-spot stimulation. Without a curve, I guess it just doesn’t hit my g-spot in the right way.

My lack of satisfaction was also a surprise to me since I had read so many positive reviews about it. Many reviewers said they loved it for g-spot stim, and for anal and prostate stimulation too. I seem to be the anomaly here, but that’s bound to happen. No toy will be unanimously enjoyed because all of our bodies are different.

The silicone is soft and matte and pretty much requires lube. The outer layer isn’t as soft as some other dual density toys, like from Vixen or Pleasure Works for example, but it still has a good amount of give to it. I’d like to try some of Tantus’ curvier dual density dildos like the Adam O2 or Uncut #1.

I really, really want to like the Flurry more than I do. It’s not that it’s a bad toy, it just doesn’t do anything special for me. But if you’re looking for a medium size dildo without a curve and with minimal texture, this would be the first one I’d recommend.

You can get the Flurry O2, and other dual density toys, directly from Tantus.
